Business Challenge
23 disconnected systems and a leadership team flying blind
The organisation's technology landscape had evolved organically over 20 years, resulting in 23 disconnected systems with no integration layer. Management reporting required a 3-week manual consolidation effort, meaning strategic decisions were always based on data that was weeks out of date.
The board had approved a digital transformation budget but two previous strategy consultancies had delivered roadmaps that were never implemented. ATMA Technology was engaged to lead the full programme from strategy through to production go-live and hypercare.

Digital Strategy & Architecture
Conducted a 6-week digital maturity assessment across all business functions. Designed a target architecture integrating SAP S/4HANA as the operational backbone with Azure cloud services for AI and analytics. Defined a phased delivery roadmap with clear business value milestones at each stage.
SAP S/4HANA Foundation
Migrated from SAP ECC to S/4HANA using a greenfield implementation approach to eliminate legacy technical debt. Deployed SAP FI/CO, MM, SD, and HR modules with a unified chart of accounts and harmonised processes across all 6 locations.
AI & Analytics Layer
Built an AI-powered analytics platform on Azure with GPT-4o for natural language querying of operational data, predictive demand forecasting, and automated exception reporting. Integrated directly with SAP S/4HANA via SAP BTP for real-time data access.
Intelligent Automation & Change
Deployed 18 Power Automate workflows automating high-volume transactional processes. Delivered a structured change management programme with digital champions in each department, role-based training for 1,800 staff, and a 90-day hypercare period post-go-live.

SAP S/4HANA + Azure AI: a unified intelligent enterprise
SAP S/4HANA provides the operational backbone for all finance, procurement, and supply chain processes. SAP BTP serves as the integration layer connecting S/4HANA to the Azure AI and analytics platform.
The AI analytics layer uses GPT-4o for natural language querying, enabling non-technical staff to interrogate operational data in plain language. Power Automate handles high-volume transactional automation, with 18 workflows replacing manual processes across finance, HR, and procurement.
